What this item is

Micaceous clay goes on an open flame, so it is fired in one — and an open firing does not run on a clock. It starts at seven and it ends when the pots are cool enough to lift, which has been as early as three and as late as six. Six seats, wood and clay included. If it rains we move the date and you hear from us the night before.
